Make sure you do your research before ordering hair or wigs. You would want to learn the difference between a lace closure and lace frontal first. A lace closure wig is recommended for a beginner
A closure wig is recommended for you as a beginner. You don’t need to use adhesive with closure wigs. It’s a good way to learn about lace and wigs and make you prepared for lace frontals that require more maintenance and time to style.
Replacement of lace products
It’s harder to do a lace replacement on a pre-made wig, sometimes it is not possible due to the construction. On custom made wigs it’s fine. A pre-made wig lasts up to 6 months and up.
Difference in length and width in hair extensions/wefts
The longer the length of the bundle (eg. 26”) the shorter the width of the hair. All bundles weigh around 95-100 grams. All hair extensions and wigs are measured stretched out which means that curly hair may appear shorter than the same length in straight hair.
Shedding of hair
A lace frontal and a lace frontal wig is high maintenance and must be re-applied more frequently than a closure. Make sure you have time and the skills needed to maintain it.
