We have been listening for years to our customers pain points and understand the struggles you face with shedding, matting, tangling and hair that don’t live up to the expectations. We want to change that narrative and have created a concept where you find two types of hairs; RAW and VIRGIN that are in a league of its own qualitywise. Our wigs come ready to wear so you can save time and energy, all you need to do is to cut the lace.

Our Story

Actually it all started with an ”I”. I started doing hair when I was 14 years old for the simple reason that I didn’t want my future daughters (I just assumed it would be girls, the thought of a son never hit me) to have to visit various aunties and sit between their legs like me and my sister had done our whole childhood. I’d seen how the ladies did sew-in’s over here in Sweden and I promised myself to make the most natural looking ones I could, why would I close a weave by joining two tracks and sew them together like a zipper? And why would I give every client an egg-shaped head? Beats me!

Fast forward to 2007, my cousin owns a hair salon and she used to buy hair from this young girl supplying hair to different salons around Stockholm. One day I was in the salon when she came and my cousin said ”Ella, you could do this”. That was the start of my journey into the hair industry. I had no idea on where to start but I knew Google would become my best friend. At this time Tyra and Beyonce had us wondering about their hair, it looked like their own but at the same time I knew it must be some kind of hairextension. I stumbled across a HD picture of Beyonce and then I saw it, the LACE. I started searching high and low and finally found manufacturers of what is commonly known today as lace wigs. I did my research and only three other companies in Sweden offered them at the time and I knew I was on the right track. Some companies in the US sold these wigs and called them celebrity secret hairsystem and charged well over 1000 usd.

Only thing stopping me was I didn’t have the funds as I was studying at the moment. I told my mum about my findings and she lended me 1500 sek, to have someone who believed in you meant everything and motivated me even more to do this right. I also told my cousin about it and she had the clientele. You should of seen me at that party where I wore a full lace wig for the first time and had my hair pulled back, I bagged so many clients that night. That’s how sales took off.

I have spent numerous of nights doing research, whilst studying full time, about hair and learning how to get into this business. This was way before Instagram and before Aliexpress. I never knew that this new hobby of mine would take me to different Asian countries and me sourcing hair, the absolute best types I could find. That would set Hair and Ella apart from many other hair companies.

Fast forward again til today. I’ve worked so hard on finding hair that lasts but another thing that I’ve done along the way is trying to inspire other women to follow their dreams. It was other women who inspired me, helped me up, encouraged and supported me to be able to come to this stage. The name Hair and Ella describes this company perfectly, the biggest aspect is about hair and the other is about me aspiring to inspire others. A dream that turned into a hobby that turned into a registered small company in Sweden. I have sent out hair to different parts of the world and I am so proud I didn’t give up when things got hard. Today my whole family is involved in Hair and Ella, if not by own will, by force.
